Samantha, Day 2

My head was still pounding when I woke up and I forced myself to eat my oatmeal. I wish I had some money left over to purchase some cinnamon to make it taste a little better. I know it’s nutritious and filling, but I’m bored of it already. I’d rather be bored than hungry, though.

  • I went to work and my headache continued. The lights started to be much too bright and the sounds of the office were becoming unbearable. It was developing into a migraine. Luckily I carry prescription medication with me for migraines and I was able to start feeling better within a few hours after taking it.
  • For lunch, I had 1 package of instant noodles. I felt full for about an hour and then my stomach was rumbling. I drank lots of water throughout the day to try and trick my belly it into thinking it was full. It didn’t work.
  • For dinner, I made a large pot of soup with some rice, lentils, carrots, zucchini, potatoes, onion, garlic, spices and a bit of the pasta sauce for flavour. I’m finding that I’m much more mindful about my cooking. Errant pieces of carrot that fell on the floor were carefully washed off before being placed in the pot. Normally I throw stuff away if it falls on the floor. I also chose not to peel any of the vegetables, as I didn’t want to waste anything. The soup is decent but I wish I had some actual vegetable broth to use instead of just water. My body was overjoyed to get some vegetables.
