Ruth Ellen Brosseau
Quebec. Ruth in an MP for Berthier—Maskinongé, Quebec. She is currently the Agriculture and Agri-Food Critic and vice-chair of the NDP National Caucus for the third time. She is happy to once again defend the interests of farmers and speaks out about the many issues that are important to her.
Ruth Ellen Brosseau grew up in Hudson, in the Montérégie region of Quebec, but she is first and foremost a proud mother to her 15-year-old son Logan. She studied Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. Elected for the first time on May 2, 2011, she rolled up her sleeves and got to work.
“By participating in the welfare challenge I hope to demonstrate how challenging it is to survive on social assistance, and how important it is to advocate for change, highlight and address inequality. We need to take action and help those in need. It’s not ok that many of our neighbours have less than $20 for food each week.”
