Vancouver. I was born into a single parent family of five children. Throughout my childhood and youth my family relied on government support and subsidies, which were never enough to make ends meet. My mother struggled daily to feed us and clothe us, all the while neglecting her own basic needs. Thanks, in large part, to my education, and in equally large part to the values and ethics instilled in me through these early years, I have found myself with access to a lot. A lot of resources, a lot of opportunities, a lot of possibility and most importantly the chance to choose foods and habits that fuel me.
