Shopping for groceries

Yesterday, I spent $25.77 on groceries and this is all I’ve got for the whole week:

  • Lentils
  • Chickpeas
  • Rice
  • Pinto beans
  • 2 loaves of bread
  • Dozen eggs
  • 4 bananas
  • Bag of apples
  • Bag of potatoes
  • Peanut butter
  • Broccoli
  • 2 carrots
  • Onion
  • Garlic

At the cash register, I had to put back some bananas and some stock cubes, which I really wanted to give me more flavour. It’s going to be a bland week. But more importantly, it’s going to be a week without much protein, fruit or vegetables.

I started my week with a peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch. For dinner, I made a lentil soup/stew with garlic, onion, carrot and apple and ate that with a baked potato. It tasted OK but I don’t know how I’ll feel after eating it for the next 2 days. I got hungry later in the evening so I had an apple and some peanut butter. I’m already worried that my small jar of peanut butter is going to run out very soon.
